Since the 1st of October 2010 Katharina Neumüller and her father, Fridolin Rusch, see themselves as partners in the family enterprise „Rusch violins“, established app. 90 years ago.
Due to this partnership, Lenggries near Munich, the traditional location of the workshop is moving back into the center of our activities. Katharinas husband, Hubert Neumüller, is running his guitar making workshop in the old bavarian style farmhouse. This house, with the adress, Rieschenhöfe 6, D-83661 Lenggries, has been in our family since the 1920‘s.
With the new partnership, also violin making returns into the old building.
Katharina Neumüller joins in as a partner
Katharina Neumüller has attended the traditional „Fachschule für Geigenbau“ in Mittenwald from 1997-2001. After a work experience with W. Bouman in Den Haag, she joined our team in 2002.
Katharina has made almost two hundred stringed instruments since 2002, thus having picked up and developed outstanding skills in the making of violins and violas.
From Sunday 5th until Friday 10th of June Fridolin Rusch has been working at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD) in Glasgow together with 5 other colleagues. Together we created a Cello following an Original by Gasparo da Salo, ca. 1580. The Cello has been presented in concerts on June 11th and 12th 2011 and was then added to the instrument collection of the RSAMD.
Also techniques of our workshop have been used and I was able to learn a lot from my grest colleagues, Helen Michetschlager, Manchester, UK; Verena Schauer, London, UK; Kai Thomas Roth, Shepton Mallet, UK; Marc Soubeyran, Ludlow, UK; Manfred Rusch, Augsburg, D.
